As a blonde mom, I'm no expert, but I do think I've found a way to conquer chapped cheeks. Boston's only had one diaper rash, and when I made the switch to my go-to diaper rash cream (revealed below) we never saw one pop up again. Every baby is different of course, but I found something that works well for me and felt it would be unfair not to share! Read on to discover my diaper rash tips and other butt-related things. When Should I Use Diaper Rash Cream? I personally only use diaper rash cream after a poopy diaper. So now that Boston is about 7 months old, we are using it once a day, twice a day, or every other day depending on how often he goes number 2. How Much Diaper Rash Cream Should I Use? I only use about a dime size, or even a little less. I'm sure as he gets older I will need to use more, but for now that seems to provide sufficient coverage. What's the Best Diaper Rash Cream? Before Boston's one and only diaper rash, I was using Boudreaux's Butt Paste. But at some point when he was about 3 or 4 weeks old he got a diaper rash so bad that his poor little butt was raw and bleeding. I ended up switching to Honest Diaper Rash Cream. Ever since then? No diaper rash. Not even a hint of one. And I'm still using my first tube 6 months later. How Can I Avoid Diaper Rash? I'm no doctor or expert in baby bums. But I will share what seems to work for me. First, I don't wipe Boston during every diaper change. If it's just a small pee, I give him a new diaper and off we go. If it's a fuller diaper that he's been sitting in for a while, I may wipe him, but we really only use them for poops. If that's gross, I'm sorry. He does get a nightly bath and smells okay... so it works for me. Second, I stay faithful to Huggies diapers and Pampers Pure Aqua Wipes. I'm not positive if these are contributing factors, but they are something I have never strayed from. When it comes to diapers, I feel confident that for the most part they can handle any heavy load. The wipes are also great for wipe dispensers – they continuously pull out of the dispenser seven out of ten times... good deal as far as wipes go. And while we're on the subject, here's the wipe warmer I use. Of course, if your baby has certain skin sensitivities or allergies, please consult their pediatrician. Again, I'm no expert. But if you're looking for a new approach, I hope this one is just as successful for you as it is for me! I've said it once, and I'll say it again – do what works for you, mama! We're not just here to give advice, we're here to learn from you, too! We'd love for you to share your favorite baby products and tips with us. xo, Jess Comments are closed.
